Prepare before opening the App

A safe, suitable practice environment comes first. The App cannot verify a firearm’s condition, the people nearby or the direction of a muzzle. Follow NSSF safe-handling rules, local requirements and every equipment manual. Stop if you cannot establish a safe environment.

Frame the supported target

The current App has a target setup flow that uses the phone camera to locate a supported target. Its tutorial shows why a complete target in view and a stable lock matter to the prototype. Real-world detection performance across devices and lighting conditions is still being tested.

Watch “How to Set Up Your Target” on YouTube.

Connect and calibrate

The internal-test App includes Bluetooth device connection and calibration screens. The tutorials explain the intended sequence and what to check before a session. Real-hardware compatibility and connection performance will be published after validation.

Practice, then review

The Open Training prototype records available events and presents target-view and action feedback after a session. A target hit is a location result. An action score summarizes movement data. Keeping them separate helps avoid mistaking a motion reading for a hit score. The App also has courses, tutorials and a history view in internal testing.
